Goals & Initiatives:
MAISA TIDE (The Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Task Force) was formed under ICSA TIDE. Our goal is to foster a community in MAISA that welcomes sailors from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Through various initiatives, we hope to provide educational resources as well as to enact lasting changes in MAISA that will open up our sport to a broader community.
Current Initiatives we are working on include a gear-exchange which would alleviate the financial burden of purchasing gear required to participate in the sport of sailing.
Coming up, we are planning a town hall, open to all coaches and athletes in MAISA, in order to discuss ways in which we can address the systemic problems that have resulted in a lack of accessibility to college sailing.
